It's always an exciting journey when you get to combine work you're passionate about with a place you love. That's why I'm so thrilled to join the staff here at Foothills Church.
If we haven't met, I'm Courtney! At Foothills, you can usually find me wandering the First Look hallways, leading Mom2Mom, or hanging out near All Star Preschool, where my two young children attend. My husband Kyle and I moved to Stayton from Silverton about three years ago, and we've both fallen head over heels in love with the Stayton community. We weren't sure how leaving the small town we grew up in for somewhere new would work for us, but through Foothills and the people we've met at this wonderful church, we feel more connected than we ever have.
Kyle and I were both raised in church. However, it took life-changing events for each of us to truly relinquish control and move our faith walks from arm’s length to deeply and transformationally personal. We’ve been married for almost 9 years now, and we'll both attest that these have been, by far, the best years of our lives. If we have spare time (what's that?), you can find us outside with our kiddos, enjoying the beautiful Pacific Northwest, or getting beat by our five-year-old at Uno (he's savage). We're both passionate about parenthood and absolutely love stewarding the two beautiful children God has blessed us with.
As for me, I work in the wonderful world of product packaging design, and have for over a decade now. There's never a dull moment in CPG marketing, but I love what I do and the people I get to meet in this unique line of work. About a year ago, though, I told Kyle that I felt God was prompting me to start clearing my schedule for an opportunity to serve. I began lightening my load and waiting for God to show me where He wanted me. When I learned Foothills was looking for a new Communications Director, Kyle and I both felt this was the open door God had been preparing me to walk through.
I'm excited to contribute my creativity to this ministry, and our family is looking forward to actively serving this community and being part of God's work here at Foothills. If you see me, come say hi!
