Hello! My name is Madi and I am very excited to be starting on staff at Foothills as the new youth ministry assistant! I grew up at Foothills and it feels really special to be back here in this new role.
I was beyond blessed to grow up in a wonderful Christian home. We got to go to church and hear Grandpa preach on Sundays; not everyone gets to say that! I accepted Christ into my life at a young age and learned to trust Him more and more as I grew up and into my faith.
Part of growing up was meeting my husband, Ron, who currently teaches and coaches football at Stayton High School (Go Eagles!). We have a one-year-old son, Russell, whose current two favorite things in the world are "wee woos" and "woof woofs" (fire trucks and dogs). Our little family also includes a Jack Russell terrier, Robert, who is thrilled that our toddler has now learned how to throw the ball for him.
There are many things I love about staying home with Russell, but one of them is that it gives me the opportunity to serve in youth ministry! I have a big heart for youth ministry and love working with that age group. I taught middle school Language Arts for five years before staying home with Russell. I was also the middle school ministry assistant at Salem Heights Church before we moved to Foothills. To be able to disciple youth through the silly and serious moments is a big blessing.
Our family is so excited to be a part of what God is doing at Foothills! We are grateful to be here with family and friends and to serve our Good God. Thank you for welcoming us!
