Q. What is this Breeze online directory?

A. Breeze is a web-based church management software. Foothills has utilized Breeze as our church database for many years. Breeze has many functions. One of them is an online directory. Staff and ministry leaders are already using Breeze so this is nothing new. We will simply be opening it up for the Foothills church community to access as a church directory.

Q. How secure is Breeze?

A. Breeze uses an HTTPS SSL encrypted connection in a PCI compliant manner for all data sent back and forth. This is the same standard used for transferring credit card data. This protects against malicious actions such as “man-in-the-middle” attacks where an individual attempts to intercept the message. An encrypted connection means that only the correct recipient is able to read the data.

Q.  Why should I be part of this directory?

A. You are a part of the Foothills church community. Part of being in community is knowing who is in community with you. A church directory is a resource for connecting. It is useful for reaching out for prayer, checking in on people, and other support. Having a photo to jog the memory helps as well.

Q.  Who can see or access this online directory?

A. Only those that the Foothills Breeze administrator has invited access to can see any of this. That will include all covenant signing members or known attenders who have opted to be included. Visitors, virtual attenders, and anyone else who is unknown or outside of our church community will not be allowed access to it.

Q. What information can others see about me and my family?

A. If you are an adult, 18 years old and older, your name, address, phone number, email, photo and family members photo(s) and name(s). If you are a minor child, only your name, photo and family information is visible. If under 18 years old, your cell number and/or email are not visible. If someone in the church body wants your child’s personal info, they will have to contact a parent in order to get it.

Q. What information can I see on my own profile?

A. You will be able to see not only your own photo, address, phone number, and email, but also your giving record. This will help you with timely updating if you see a discrepancy in your contact info, or your giving, and correct it. So, if you move and have a new address, you can update that yourself. If you are a volunteer in Children’s Ministry you will also be able to view your volunteer schedule.

Q. Speaking of photo, where did you get that photo of me?

A. Most likely from Facebook. In the past only staff and ministry leaders used Breeze. We needed a face to go with your name, and wham, Facebook to the rescue!

Q. Can I change my photo?

A. Yes. You will be able to change your photo yourself. We do ask that it be a face shot that actually looks like you. No sunglasses, hats, profiles, goofy expressions, etc. We thank you in advance. If you need help, please email our Breeze Administrator HERE.

Q. Why online? Why not just print one out?

A. An online directory is updated everywhere as soon as an update is entered in the directory database. We don’t have to create addendums and you don’t have to deal with your church directory being constantly outdated as a printed one most often is. An online directory is accessible anywhere, at any time. So even when you are on the go, you can access the information via your cell phones, tablets, or laptops. Q. Can I use the directory member’s information for my own use?

A. Do not use this information to solicit, sell, or other inappropriate use of any form. If this happens, your directory privileges will be revoked. However, on the other side of that if you are looking for a plumber and you know “Joe Blow” is a plumber, you have his contact info and can give him a call to fix your leaky pipes. It’s good to support each other’s business. But, no soliciting, please.

Q. If I opt-in now, can I opt-out later?

A. Of course. Simply contact our Breeze Administrator HERE.

Q. Can I search by marital status, such as “all the single ladies”?

A. No. This is not a dating website. :)
