What is iServe?
iServe is a community service project that started at Foothills Church and has grown to include other churches in the Santiam Canyon. We ask local school and city officials what we can do to help them and they give us work. There is a lot of painting and landscaping that happens at iServe.
Why do we serve?
iServe is an opportunity to demonstrate Christ's love for our community. Also, it's a lot of fun.
When & where is iServe?
iServe happens Saturday, June 25, 2011, in Stayton, Sublimity, Lyons, Aumsville, Mill City, Gates and Scio. We meet at 8am in our respective towns. Work runs until it's finished, about 2pm.
Who should serve?
We'd love it if everyone came and served. Invite friends and neighbors. Even kids, when supervised by parents, are welcome. We are anticipating some 800 volunteers this year. Are you restricted in the type of work you can do? Let us know and we'll help you find a place to serve that suits your needs.
Where will I be serving?
We'll find a spot for you or you can choose your location when we have registration in May and June.
What do we need to bring that day?
If you're painting: water bottle, paint brush, rollers, pans, drop cloth if you have one, ladder if you have one. Your team leader will help you decide what to bring.
If you're outside: water bottle, clippers, gloves, rakes, lawn mower, insect repellent, sunscreen. Again, your team leader will help you decide what to bring.
Is lunch included?
Yes, lunch will be provided at certain centralized work sites.
Is there a cost?
We ask participants to pay $5 each to serve. This covers costs of materials such as paint & painting supplies, equipment rentals and lunch at certain work sites.
How do I get a blue iServe shirt?
The shirt is $6. You can ask for a shirt when you register.
How do I register?
You can do it right here on our website. You may have already signed up at church. You are awesome and you don't need to do it again!
